Croteau Retirement:
After 25 years of service, Emile (Camile) and Rita Croteau are hanging up their work boots and retiring from the Millsfield ATV Club. Camile was a club founder in 1998 and has played an enormous role in keeping the club going strong for so many years. He spent countless hours maintaining the trails, leading repairs and improvement projects, recruiting helpers, and coordinating with excavator and machine operators. He would be the first one onsite at 5:30AM and never ran out of energy. As riders passed by, he took pleasure in meeting and connecting with them.
Over the years, Rita could also be found by her husband’s side, working on the trails. Even the 95-degree weather wouldn’t stop her from maintaining the ATV parking lot, shed, benches, grills, bathroom, picnic tables, and more. She also enjoyed greeting and chatting with riders (and of course, selling a club raffle ticket or two.)
Together, the Croteaus have contributed tremendously and will be greatly missed. Millsfield ATV club is always looking for more volunteers to help upkeep the trails and visitor areas.
Camile and Rita would like to thank the local businesses that contributed to the club over the years. Without that support, the trails would not be what they are today.
2023 Club Updates:
There are personnel changes happening in the Millsfield ATV club and we are hoping to get more people involved. We will have a meeting Memorial Day weekend (May 28th 10am at the club house) where some members will be stepping down and hopefully interested parties will show up to run. Emile Croteau will be retiring as our trail master and Bill Demers is hoping to pass along the position of treasurer. In the interim, Mike and Gary Gilbert have agreed to fill in as trail masters because all trail paperwork must be submitted before that weekend. The positions of President and trail administrator could also be available if anyone is interested. Here are some of the tasks that we can use help with:
· NHOVA quarterly meetings attended online
· Trail work reimbursement paperwork
· Treasure tasks including various bill payments
· Grading/raking and various trail improvement, including bridge building
· Fund raising including poker runs and ticket/map sales
